About this Event

Art, often seen as a luxury and narrow in purpose, can be misunderstood as a skill you have (or you don’t) and practiced only by creative people.

TEDxMelbourne will be creating an experience that allows us to explore how an artist thinks, views and explores their creative self then parallel that to how we might understand our world and how those skills can be used in life in general. We want attendees to see “art as practical”.

It is also a way to fully explore the T, E & D in TED, using Technology to both Entertain (the “E” in TED) to Design (the “D”).

Our guest artist for this TEDx Event.

The speaker

Robert Lee Davis is a past 2015 TEDxMelbourne speaker who typically works with mixed media collages, however for this session we will go back to drawing principles and explore the essence of creativity and perspective. How do we “see”? What is an “artist”? Am I creative? Learn how to draw.

This session is for people of all ages. We encourage families and housemates to join in on the shared experience.

Note: Please come prepared with a pencil and blank paper as this is an interactive and hands on event.
